Kennesaw, GA – Photographing Snowflakes

We moved to Georgia just a few short weeks ago. I had lived here prior to having kids and a husband back in my younger days and had never seen a snow storm like the one we had a few days ago. We were some of the luckier ones to have been home when it all happened. I feel for everyone who got stuck on the roads and highways for 8 plus hours so deperately trying to get home to their loved ones. A few days have passed and I am so greatful that the roads have cleared up and life is slowly getting back to normal for everyone.

Here are a few shots I took of some snowflakes on that cold snowy day. Living and growing up in Los Angeles I had never really seen all the amazing detail of a snowflake and taking these pictures blew my mind. I wanted to share a couple of them so you can see just how intricate and amazing they all are!

All of these were shot with a mark III, canon 100mm macro lens at f/2.8, ISO 1250, and 1/250th of a second.
